Bengaluru: Second PU practical exams postponed amid rise in coronavirus cases

Bengaluru, Apr 25: Minister for primary and secondary education S Suresh Kumar on Sunday April 25 informed that the practical examination for second PU students, scheduled to begin from April 28, will be postponed.

The decision was taken due to concern over the health of students in the wake of spike in covid-19 cases in the state. Practical exams will be conducted immediate after the annual written exams, the minister informed in a press release.


The decision was taken after holding a meeting with heads of various educational institutions, representatives, and parents of the students, he added.

"The government is committed to protecting the interest of the students. Students should continue to concentrate on the preparation for the annual examination without any panic or anxiety," Suresh Kumar urged.

Over the last two weeks, the state and the country as a whole has seen a rapid spread of the second wave of coronavirus. While the country's daily tally has crossed a record 3.5 lac cases, the state witnessed nearly 30,000 cases on Saturday April 24.

    Postponing is better, our students need to learn lot , that is why our well educated govt authorities failed to tackle the situation , failed solve the public issues , failed to take decisions during crises - One will say no lock down at all and other one will say lock down needed, one minister says no shortage oxygen another one saying country is sever facing oxygen supply . govt saying no more gathering in celebration weddings but our children themselves confused about our ancestors, Let them wait to learn from crises.

    carrier is made without studying or without practicing what they studied..!!!!!???? its not carrier but CAREER. but intelligence is required in every field. not everyone is IAS or IPS or MINISTERS

    Because of conducting classes in schools/colleges, many parents suffering from corona virus ...because of the students ..They were not maintaining aafe distance, no masks, no sanitising. Why this minister is behind the lives of students and their parents ? Doesnt have humanity. We cant blame children...But, these ministers are responsible for spreading the pandemic all over ...What happens if the exams are cancelled and promoted?

    Nice joke. Impose lockdown and then advise students to prepare for exams without any panic or anxiety. How can students concentrate when trapped in their homes and ministers are in panic mode as if the world is going to end tomorrow.

    For our politicians carrier decisive exams are not important as their (not only their own but for 100 more generations) carrier is made without studying or without practicing what they studied.!!!!!???? Parents must decide what is good for their children.
