Moodbidri: Palakala Sitaram Bhat Bags Bala Vikasa Academy Award

Moodbidri, Aug 5:
Seventy-five-year-old Palakala Sitaram Bhat, renowned children’s litterateur, bagged the Karnataka Bala Vikasa Academy honorary award for the year 2009–10.
 
Bhat has authored over 160 children’s books and all his work was published in the form of a book recently.
 
He has also been felicitated by literary unions in various schools of the taluk. 
 
He lives with his family in Palakala village, near Kadalakere here.  Bhat served as a teacher in primary and high schools in the taluk for three and a half decades.  Known for hi simplicity, he is still active in the literary field.

    Congratulations,Sir.I was your student at Paladka Elementary school from 1955 to 1958 and I always remember you for the pains taken by you in making us learn English in those days. I used to sit in the class with your brother Sripathi.it is really nice to read about the reward given to you.

    Congratulations sir, for achieving this prestigous Bala Vikasa Academy Award 2009-10.You would have got this award long back, since you have contributed a lot in children's literature.


    I remember my High School days, you were teaching English for us.The way of your teaching was entirely different and we used to enjoy the subject and your presence for 45 mnts in the class by listening your one or two short stories.


    Indeed a great honour to Dakshina Kannada and also for Moodbidri and also for our Puthige Village.
    May the Almighty give you more strength, good health and years of more contribution to children's literatue. Long live Palakala Sitaram Bhat.

    Congratulation to Sri Palakala Sitarama Bhat for acheiving this prestigious Bala Vikasa Acadamy Award.
    Mr.Bhat was my teacher in the year 1982-1983 at Jain high school Moodbidri.
