Sullia, Apr 28: The directors for Patrakartara Graha Nirmana Sahakara Sangha that was formed under the leadership of Dakshina Kannada zilla Karyaniratha Patrakartara Sangha were elected at Patrika Bhavan, Mangaluru on Tuesday April 27.

Fifteen directors including Patrakartara Sangha president Srinivas Nayak Indaje were elected. Out of 15 seats, nine were of the general category. 12 remained in the fray. The votes were counted after 4 pm. In the counting, Srinivas Nayak Indaje (177 votes), Atmabhooshan Bhat (118), Ibrahim Adkastala (139), Jithendra Bhat (127), Sukh Pal Polali (146), Bhasker Rai Katta(167), Pushparaj B N (157), Keshava Kunder (115) and Wilfred D’Souza (127) were elected by majority votes. Ashok Shetty (48), S Jayaram (57) and Ravichandra B (88) suffered defeat. Mohammed Arif and Vijaya Kotian are elected from the remaining reserved backward tribe A category.

Seven candidates faced elections for the two seats under the reserved backward tribe A category. Narendra M Poojary (received 27 votes), Manohar Balanja (34), Vijaya Kotian (67), Rajesh Poojary (60), Mohammed Arif (91), Mohammed Ansar Innoli (49) and Siddik Neeraje (42). Suresh Palli and Harish Motukana are elected unopposed for SC and ST seats and Satyavati and Shilpa are elected unopposed for the women’s category.

198 shareholders voted out of a total of 209 shareholders with a percentage of 94.98.
