Mangaluru, Apr 28: As the COVID19 second wave is sweeping the state, the city corporation, instead of cancelling its general session, is planning to hold it online.
Normally the general sessions are held at the fag end of each month to discuss development and other issues. But because the lockdown-like situation is on, it has been decided that it is not advisable for the corporators to meet. Therefore, plans are afoot to hold the meeting online.
However, rules do not permit holding of general session online. The corporation administration therefore is thinking of approaching the state government with a request to permit the same. Holding of the meeting is all the more important at this juncture as suggestions and advice on handling corona situation and steps required to be undertaken before the onset of monsoon are to be discussed. The session is needed to get approval for the decisions proposed to be taken by the corporation.
