Mangaluru: Swelling samples - COVID19 test reports getting delayed

Mangaluru, Apr 28: At a time when coronavirus infection has been spreading fast, the reports of RT-PCR tests are received with delay.

In normal course, RT-PCR test reports are received in 24 to 48 hours but of late the reports take four to six days to receive. Dakshina Kannada district health officer, Dr Kishore, says that the delay is on account of 5,000 to 6,000 tests being conducted every day. He said that the technical teams are trying their best to upgrade the system and that he expects to get the desired result in about a week's time.

COVID tests are performed in eight medical colleges and the government Wenlock Hospital in the district. About 2,500 tests are conducted in Wenlock Hospital while the medical colleges do an average of 300 tests per day. Faster diagnosis is very much important in controlling the spread of this disease.

Similar problem persists in Udupi district. District health officer, Dr Sudhir Chandra Sooda, says that 3,000 to 4,000 samples are received every day and the district hospital lab conducts about 1,500 tests every day. He clarified that the delay is happening because of this.

There has been a steady increase in the number of people getting vaccinated. At the same time, shortage of vaccines has been found. Earlier this week, 12,000 vaccine vials reached the city. This might be sufficient for two to three days. By then, fresh supplies have to come.

    In India we are having only the second wave. Germany is having the 3rd and Japan 4th. This is not going to stop. Herd immunity is fairy tale for India. India is not like Israel which has less population with fit population. Fisrt of all, at this rate, India can not vaccinate all citizens by the year end. After that, the vaccine, however effective is, only effective against the original Covid (so far the reseach and vaccine made). The recent variants/mutants are not covered by it. Just like if you had Flu vac (that covered many stains) and if you still get it because of the variant that is not covered, that will hit you hard. I am sure, not only me but many people I personally know have experienced this which actually made them to decide not to have flu vac at all. It really its hard, if you had vaccine but not covered the particular stain. So, the tunnel might be too long before we see the light. Are our politicians even an iota of idea where we are heading to?

    This is devastating for non-covid patients. Hospitals directly admit serious patients to covid section until the covid test report comes(especially if the patient has respiratory problems). by the time report comes the patient is doomed to get infected if he was negative before. Given the situation we can't even blame hospitals. God save our loved one from this virus and incompetent government.!!

    Most of the viruses come from hospitals-remember First Neuro? There should be separate infectious disease hospitals at evey district HQ. These should have beds, oxygen plants, medicines,lab and x ray machine, they should be well ventilated ( no a/c, ) and easily scalable.The other hospitals should cater to illness and surgeries that people require. Other diseases that are treatable should be treated. Fatality is more in other diseases than Covid.

    Covid 19 has no specific treatment ( only supportive) , I do not understand why RTPCR tests , are done, they are not reliable as there are many false positive and negative (and few manipulated reports also)The same energy and money could have been spent on vaccination which has a preventive role ( though not total). Asymptomatic patients do not get tested and will spread the virus even otherwise. Only very few do require RTPCR tests , it should not be used a a screening tool.

    Already lawsuit againt RT PCR tests in Germany... Dr Reiner Fuellmich PCR Lawsuit Update – March 2021 ... RF: In Germany, two cases have been filed, each contain the PCR tests. Dr Fuellmich is about to file twelve more complaints and will try to include motions for a preliminary judgement so that we will not be pushed aside towards the end of the year because this is what happened to both of these complaints. We filed them at the end of last year and we now have gotten trial dates and the trial is scheduled, the oral hearing is scheduled for 9 November 2021. Obviously, this is an attempt at slowing us down because everybody knows by now that the PCR test are the centrepiece of this entire hoax. It’s Drosden (Christian) who promoted his PCR test as the gold standard for detecting infections and it’s the WHO under Tedros who recommended this worldwide, so this is at the centre of this entire scandal. If we destroy the PCR test as a means of detecting infections the whole house of cards is going to crash...     I had revealed what you have written a few days back. Even the story of asymptomatic or healthy people spreading the virus is his creation which wasn't there till then to raise the fake infections and disease mania. India needs a long time to reach their court level as presently justices just buy local narratives of some fake gurus rather than get expert advice of true international scientists.
