Central Vista not essential, central govt with vision is: Rahul

New Delhi, Apr 28 (IANS): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has come down heavily on the government and said that a government with a vision is essential.

He tweeted on Wednesday, "Central Vista- not essential, Central Govt with a vision essential." Stepping up the attack on the government on the issue of coronavirus management, the former Congress president had said on Tuesday that the fight is against Covid, not Congress.

Rahul Gandhi had tweeted, "The Modi government must realise that the battle is against Covid, it is not against the Congress or other political opponents."

The Congress has alleged that the government has mishandled the whole issue, the patients are being denied treatment and there is shortage of oxygen beds and essential medicines.

The party said it has set up a control room to coordinate with PCC control rooms and provide assistance and relief to the people infected with coronavirus. Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi has appointed four persons to man the control room. They are Manish Chatrath, Ajoy Kumar, Pawan Khera and Gurdeep Singh Sappal.

The Congress statement said this group of four persons will coordinate the relief activities of various state control rooms.

@ j.anata, Mangaluru / Bengaluru - After 7 long years of disastrous central leadership that has wiped off 70 years of painstaking progress, you have finally realised to ask for all Indians to unite ? If I were in Modi's shoes I would have given an open challenge to the opposition to take over the reigns of the government if they thought they can do a better job. However even you know that Modi is never going to do that.

The ruling BJP has no moral right to remain in power because it has "completely failed" to provide the basic fundamental right to the citizens of the country, "The entire country is in shock waves with reports coming from all across the nation of Covid patients dying due to the non-availability of oxygen. The BJP government has completely failed to provide the 'right to life' to the citizens of India, The lack of planning and preparation between the first and the second wave is the worst act of negligence of an incompetent government. The Prime Minister has completely failed to provide a sense of safety, direction or leadership during this massive human crisis we are facing. It is shocking that just day before yesterday, he was on a public stage addressing thousands of people with no covid protocol and laughing while doing so. What is there to laugh about? The entire country is in tears. There are no hospital beds available, medicines are running short, crematoriums are full, frontline workers are exhausted...
