Mangalore: Litterateur Amruth Someshwar Releases Textbooks at University

Mangalore, Aug 6: A series of text books were released at a programme hosted at Ravindra Kala Bhavan, University College here on Friday August 6.

Five books were released by litterateur Amruth Someshwar, three books each by Prof T C Shivashankar Moorthy, vice chancellor, Mangalore University, and Prof Chinnappa Gowda, registrar, Mangalore University.

Someshwar said that the books were compiled with great care and effort and that they contain aspects of regional culture.

Prof Moorthy, in his presidential speech, said that Ravindra Kala Bhavan is very beautiful but it can be improved and Mangalore University will help provide funds for more facilities to make the hall better. He also invited authors who can write science text books in Kannada to volunteer for the work.

Abhay Kumar, chief editor of ‘Vikas’ and Prof Krishna Moorthy, president, ‘Vikas’, were also present.

Shripathy Kalluraya, director, Prasaranga, welcomed the gathering.
