Bhopal, May 1: A truck loaded with 2,40,000 doses of Covaxin was found abandoned by the roadside near Kareli Bus Stand in Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, May 1, the police reported.

It is said that the Kareli Police received information that a truck had been left by the roadside for a long time while the truck's driver and conductor were missing. Upon receiving the information, Kareli police reached the spot and examined the truck where they found as many as 2,40,000 doses of Bharat Biotech's Covaxin.

"The estimated cost of these vaccines was found to be approximately Rs 8 crore. When police traced the driver's mobile location, his phone was found in bushes near the highway. The air condition of the truck was in a working condition which means doses are safe. We are looking for the driver and conductor of the truck, but they are untraceable as of now," sub inspector from Kareli police station Ashish Bopache said.

How could one take a trustworthy and an effective vaccine of this is the way vaccine mobility is handled. What if its not stored as per norms for its safe usage? Really... we can't rely on the words and actions of the authorities.

This is one more evidence that the vaccination programme has been handled carelessly by the central govrrnment. No stock taking, no reporting, no data of goods in transit, no centralised operation and consignment tracking. BJP running a grocery. Ask them about elections, they have all data, plan and roadmap.

Don't waste the precious stock which can save lives. Get a driver and see the authenticity and reach it to the destination on priority. In the meantime look into the problems faced by the driver and his staff.

Perhaps the "Nonsense" happens and gets detected in States ruled by BJP... but in other states the "Nonsense" carries on undetected.
