Udupi: Man threatens woman mining officer who raided illegal sand business

Udupi, May 1: A man threatened a woman mining department officer, who went to raid the illegal sand business he was doing.

As per the complaint filed at Malpe police station, Sandhya Kumari (29) working in the mining and geology department went along with the driver of the department to inspect the illegal mining as per the complaint received from the office of DC on April 30.

Irshad, the person who was carrying out illegal sand mining threatened the woman officer and said that she has no right to inspect the sand dune where he is doing sand mining and also said that he will not allow her to go out from there. He also tried to assault the driver of the mining department along with six other people.

Irshad is accused of blocking the mining department vehicle when the officer and the driver were driving back to the office.
