Mangalore: Corrupt MCC Administration - Opposition Demands Mayor's Resignation

Mangalore, Aug 8: Opposition here on Saturday August 7 demanded mayor Rajani Dugganna for the issue wherein MCC Standing Committee on Health president ordered cancellation of e-tender process, which is a clear violation of the rules and regulations of the government.

Addressing a press meet opposition leader D K Ashok alleged that the “president has misused her power as contractor of her choice failed to participate in the e-tender process. “Despite opposition, the contract for water billing has been again given to Prasanna Technology, which had quoted ` 6 for billing during the tender process, while the lower rate was at ` 3.70 for billing,” he alleged.

Former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde alleged that the MCC administration was corrupt. “The mayor should tender resignation by accepting moral responsibility,” he said and added that the opposition members will stage a protest in front of the MCC building against the administration next week.
