DMK's Duraimurugan scrapes through at Katpadi

Chennai, May 3 (IANS): The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) General Secretary Duraimurugan scraped through in the Katpadi Assembly constituency securing just 746 votes more over his AIADMK rival V.Ramu.

For a long period of time Duraimurugan was trailing behind Ramu on Sunday when the votes polled on April 6 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections were counted.

With this victory, Duraimurugan has won the Katpadi seat six times from 1996 onwards.
