Bantwal, May 3: Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik inspected the Covid Care Centre that is being opened at Devaraj Urs female Student’s Hostel for students at Vamadapadavu and the bed facilities with oxygen arranged at Vamadapadavu Community Health Centre.
Speaking to news reporters later he said that the facilities are arranged in view of the spike in corona cases. “12 beds with oxygen facilities are already reserved at Vamadapadavu community health centre. There are 25 beds at taluk hospital. 14 patients are under treatment there. Three of them are in ICU. The Covid Care Centre are equipped like in hospitals. Those with A category symptoms with no facilities at home are being treated at the care centre. Therefore, there is no need for anybody to be worried but precautions are essential,” he said.
Bantwal tahsildar, Rashmi S R who was accompanying him explained the arrangements. Taluk health officer, Dr Deepa Prabhu explained the measures taken by the health department. The minister directed the backward class department officer Bindia to provide necessary facilities at the student’s hostel. He discussed with officials about meals for the hospital and Care Center, beds and bed sheets for the Center and directed the officials to make sure patients do not suffer the inconvenience. He asked them to contact him in case of issues.
