Third wave of Covid inevitable, warns govt's Scientific Advisor

New Delhi, May 5 (IANS): The third wave of Covid is inevitable given the amount of virus circulating in India, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government, K. VijayRaghavan warned on Wednesday.

Addressing the Union Health Ministry press conference, he said: "Third phase is inevitable given the amount of virus circulating. But it is difficult to predict the timeline. We should prepare for the new (third) wave."

He also said that regular monitoring of the Covid-19 vaccines is needed for upgradation to deal with the new strains.

The Scientific Advisor also pointed out that variants are transmitted the same as the original strain.

"It doesn't have properties of new kinds of transmission. It infects humans in a manner that makes it more transmissible as it gains entry, makes more copies and goes on, same as original," he said.

VijayRaghavan also emphasised that vaccines currently available are effective against existing variants. He said that scientists in India and across the globe are working to anticipate new variants and act against them rapidly by early warning and developing modified tools.

The Union Health Ministry, meanwhile, said that around 2.4 per cent day on day growth in Covid cases has been noticed in the country.

Joint Secretary, Health, Luv Aggarwal said: "12 states have more than one lakh active cases, seven states have 50,000 to one lakh active cases and 17 states have less than 50,000 active cases. Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh have more 1.5 lakh active cases."

Aggarwal stated that 24 states and UTs have reported more than 15 per cent Covid positivity rate while 10 states have more than 25 per cent positivity rate. Maharashtra has a reported positivity rate of 24 per cent.

Niti Aayog's Member, Health, Dr V.K. Paul urged physicians to come forward and provide teleconsultations to people and families at home who are infected with Covid. Referring to the new strain, he said: "The response to the changing virus remains the same... we need to follow the covid appropriate behaviour such as mask, distancing, hygiene, no unnecessary meetings and staying at home."

    The Game Plan is getting Exposed first in Germany where the court found the very basis of this monster is based on fake claim of asymptomatic being spreaders based on a test which never reveals whether virus is there or which virus has left the debris without colonizing. Now New Zealand govt., failed to answer the query from their famous epidemiologist & forensic scientist who asked the govt. there on what basis & evidence they believed this virus is spread by asymptomatic persons or what RTPCR test proves. Their PM sent to to Health Ministry, they sent it to Covid 19 task force & they too took 3 weeks to search for the evidence & they gave one link of WHO which never existed, other links were just speculations & not proven by any scientific papers or research but China origin joint study by WHO. The very basis of pandemic is getting exposed, based on the above 2 assumptions all over the world lockdown measure, distance & mask mandates originated that too without any scientific evidence but assumptions. Time for now for the Indian Doctors, Scientists & General Public to wake up & ask questions to the proponents of the present crisis too & take these evidences to the highest courts & end this Menace Forever so that those foreign powers won't take us for a ride & cause economical loss & peoples lives are destroyed through Chinese Model Measures in future.

    RtPCR is not as "gold" standard atleast in India. But whatever anyone may believe, the fact is there are more people dying now than before. And going to hospital or staying at home now also doesnt seem to matter. The fact is... people are dying

    No wonder you are from Neptune so don't know the facts! Just show data from any country where no single deaths took place in a single day. Compare deaths from last 5 years to last year's & prove they were far more after this monster was discovered. In our country every day 40,000 people die due to all the causes while now we are quoting only 1000 to 2000 deaths which means corona has saved 40000 deaths? In the past I've given the real reasons for deaths with covid like Fear, Adverse Drug Reactions due to mismanagement of viral infections etc. Deny these if you have any evidence to disprove. Truth & Facts cannot be only based on media output but on real data. Stop the fake tests & labelling of healthy people as patients or cases & you can say goodbye to this menace sooner.

    PSA is suddenly demonstrating some signs of human intellgence! but he is basically saying 'grass is green, sky is blue' - all motherhood statements & we all know that! where was he hibernating before the second wave hit? as usual, confuse people by talking of things that are either in the past or future.

    I don't think a scientist is required to tell us this....!!!??? Vaccine is a business model like US and all to take flu shot during the season. This will continue in India also till we die. Anyway companies has to survive and also our politicians ambition has to fulfilled. If vaccine is only protecting from the present varient, then what is the use of vaccination drive in the entire nation. Let us wait for the immunity to build once we get Covid-19 or else perish as usual. So many people had lost their life for different variations of virus like Monkey fever, H1N1, Chiukun Gunya, Brain fever, Sars....etc etc. It looks like Covid-19 virus is the King of all viruses since 2020. No one has died of other viruses till now since a year. It is a king of all viruses or it was made as a king, only Medical Fraternity will be in a better position tell . In my opinion it is created,
