Bengaluru, May 7: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, D K Shivakumar, has demanded for the arrest of MP Tejasvi Surya and BJP MLA for spreading communal enmity.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday May 6, Shivakumar said that he was initially happy to hear what Tejasvi and his party MLA had to say in the matter. "But when he read a list of 17 persons, I realized that he does not have legal knowledge. This very person had derided the Muslims as those engaged in attending to tyre punctures. On one occasion, he had termed Bengaluru as the hideout for terrorists. The chief minister should instruct the police to arrest people who issue inflammatory statements like him. Otherwise, let him drive away the Muslims from the country. We will fight on behalf of our brothers and sisters," he stated.

Shivakumar noted that neither minister Ashok, nor deputy chief minister Ashwath Narayan, are saying anything about the scandal. Ashok has done a good job in arranging funerals of Covid patients. I do not have confidence in the probe headed by senior police officer Sandeep Patil. I have demanded investigation by the accounts committee," Shivakumar explained. He also hailed the high court bench that has formed a high court committee to investigate Chamarajanagar catastrophe.
MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan, launched a diatribe against Tejasvi Surya, accusing him of repeatedly blaming the Muslims for every evil. He said at a press conference that he has arranged for the funeral of over 500 persons without checking their castes or religions. He invited Tejasvi Surya to join him in the funeral of at least Hindus. "Tejasvi need not help the Muslims. I will give jobs to those 17 who lost their jobs. But can he provide ten beds? MLA Satish Reddy's personal secretary also was involved with the bed blocking scandal," he claimed.
