UAE adds 1,724 new Covid-19 cases, three death

Dubai, May 7: Health officials in the UAE confirmed 1,724 new coronavirus cases and three additional fatalities overnight despite a continued nationwide vaccination campaign against the highly contagious disease.

The latest additions to the total number of Covid cases amounts to 5,30,944 in the UAE with 1,604 deaths, a report by the ministry of health and prevention stated.

The ministry is aiming at expanding the scope of nationwide testing for early detection of Covid cases and carry out necessary treatment, the report stated.

In the past 24 hours, an additional 72,811 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered for a total of 10,907,264 doses thus far or a distribution rate of 110.28 doses per 100 people.
