KDPA Singing Contest Mera Bharat Mahaan Evokes Patriotic Fervour in Bahrain

Bahrain, Aug 10: Kasaragod District Pravasi Association (KDPA) here organized Mera Bharat Mahaan, patriotic singing contest at South Park Restaurant Priyadarshini Hall Manama, recently.

Chief guest Dr P V Cherian, chairman of Co-ordination Committee of Indian Association and Bahrain based poet Zulfi were the guest of honour.

Satish Edneer, president of KDP A and other committee members welcomed the guests.

Dr Cherian congratulated the KDPA for the step taken to celebrate the Independence Day. It is not only a day of reflection, but  is also a day to pay tribute and express our gratitude for the freedom we enjoy today.

Zulfi thanked the KDPA and said that the competition of singing patriotic songs is the best tribute to the great souls who brought us freedom.

On the occasion, Leeladhar Baikampady was presented with memento in recognition of his social work towards the community.

Satish Edneer thanked all the Indian gathered for the function and informed that KDPA distributed 800 pairs of school uniform and scholarship for students of Kasargod village.

In all 10 teams participated. More the 500 people attended the function. Lolakshi Rajaram and Nivedhta Menon compered teh programme.
