Bengaluru: Anwar Manippady writes to PM complaining against CM Yediyurappa

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, May 9: Former chairman of Karnataka State Minorities Commission and BJP leader Anwar Manippady has accused chief minister B S Yediyurappa of 'suppressing' the Rs 4 lac crore Wakf scam in collusion with Congress leaders.

Anwar Manippady expressing his displeasure on the matter even wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president J P Nadda and others. In his letter, he wrote: “I was even offered to forego the report for whatever fund I ask for by our leader B S Yediyurappa’s own son. It’s not lacs or crores, it is trillions that have been agreed upon by the opposition and our leader Yediyurappa to suppress this report.

"I challenge BSY to hand over the Wakf scam report and Lokayukta fact-finding report to the CBI. Also, keep the Wakf Board which is the crux of the report, in suspended animation. If he is honest and not involved in this mega scam, he should do the above," he wrote.

The CM had reportedly urged the then Congress government to table the Wakf scam report in the legislature session. However, Manippady pointed out that Yediyurappa did not make any attempt to table the report after he became the chief minister.

It was said that only after the complaint reached the Supreme Court that Yediyurappa had considered to table it in September 2020. However, Anwar Manippady says the report was not tabled in accordance with the Act.

Speaking to daijiworld, Manippady said, "Yediyurappa has totally joined hands with the land mafia of the opposition Congress. The Wakf scam case has been won in the high court, the Supreme Court, and Lokayukta endorsed it as a very pertinent report. Having won in the council, it had to be tabled in accordance with the act. Just for namesake he acted as if he was tabling it on September 23, 2020, but he didn't even give a copy of my report to the press. He didn't even given a copy to the members, which he should have.

"Along with that report, he should have tabled the report on the action taken. That also he has not done. He should have tabled the Lokayukta report. He has totally forgotten about it. Nor has he any intention of getting this report implemented. If he and his son are honest, let them hand it over to the CBI, but he will not do it because tonnes of money has passed hands," Manippady alleged.

If situation is continued like this, it will be very difficult to know which politicians are in which party. Soon jumping from party to party operation will start. Please those 17 MLAs who jumped from Congress, it is better to make them life members of BJP.
