No lathicharge on lockdown violators: Bengaluru police commissioner to cops

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, May 10: Bengaluru city police commissioner Kamal Pant has asked police personnel not to resort to lathicharge against violators of lockdown.

The videos of policemen using lathis to beat the violators has gone viral on social media. The use of brute force by police has drawn objection from citizens.

Reacting to the complaints, police commissioner Kamal Pant in a tweet has ordered police personnel to take suitable legal action against violators instead of raining lathi blows on them.

Who have authorised/ordered Police on duty to use their lathis and beat on them like animals. It was a pathetic scene police beatng some people who violated rules. They beat people like buffaloes (Kambla Koana). Even animals should not be beat like that. When its a cruelty act to animals how can the police beat people in a inhuman manner. They should be punished even dismissed. There is a limit for everything. Taking advantage of Covid lockdown the police on duty should not behave/act like mad personnel.

Law and order belongs to police. To make sure our uneducated citizens abide by the law they need use the these tactics. They are doing this in front of the media to make a statement. Blaming politician and rest does not solve the problem. We are own responsible for this problem.

Please do not blame the police. They are asked to do by their superior. Here we need to blame the well educated commissioner Pant and our uneducated boss Yaddy and his government who compelled them to do so. People got the reward for voting Yaddy.

Don't beat the poor citizens. Find the route cause. Who permitted, organised and sponsored Kumbhmela, Shahi Snan? Who went around campaigning for elections? Finally, the CM declared that he gave free hand to the police. The names of the main culprits are as clear as they are written on the wall. Book them for genocide and give exemplary punishment.

It’s an utter shame and utter nonsense. It shows how primitive we are still being a so called digital India. We must be the only country in the world and they must be laughing at us. Glad that finally someone has put a stop to this barbaric practice.

This is inhuman, beating people so badly even when they possess valid ID proofs and letters from corporates. Even people without uniforms are found beating along with the police personnel. If they are so concerned now, what where they doing when all mass gatherings, functions, rallies and protests where happening. This is a real sorry state of managing a pandemic. Hope better sense prevails. The world is also watching us.

So many viral videos of Police acting like animals. People are getting beaten even after showing I.D's. Please take action against such policemen. We don't even treat animals that way when they cause trouble. Police who take pride in calling themselves protectors of people are behaving in an indisciplinary manner.

The rules and regulations for the entire state should be one. Lot of confusion as the districts adopt their own set of rules.
