Bangalore: Rahul Gandhi to Address Dist Congress Presidents on Aug 14

Bangalore, Aug 12:
 AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi, who will be arriving here on a two-day visit of the state on Friday August 13, will be addressing a meeting of district Congress committee presidents in the city on Saturday August 14.

Rahul Gandhi will be addressing the DCC presidents and office-bearers of KPCC on organizational matters and political issues, according to KPCC president R V Deshpande and working president D K Shivakumar.

The two top office-bearers of KPCC – Deshpande and Shivakumar – and that of National Students Union of India (NSUI) Hibi Eden, who addressed the media in Bangalore on the eve of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the state, said the AICC general secretary would be holding an interaction session with the students at Mysore, Shimoga, Dharwad, Gulbarga and Bangalore in connection with the organisational elections in NSUI.

They said Rahul Gandhi would hold meetings at St Philomena’s College at Mysore, Acharya Tulasi College at Shimoga and SDM College Stadium at Dharwad on August 13. He would have a night halt at Dharwad.

He would also address students at Sharanabasaveswara Vidyavardhaka Sangha College at Gulbarga, National College and National Law School of India University at Bangalore on August 14.

Shivakumar said that the state unit of the NSUI had introduced a new concept of holding elections to the college students. The practice of nominations had been given a go-by. He said that the party leaders, appointed for holding elections for the college students unions have started their work.
