4 killed in boiler blast at TN pesticide factory


Chennai, May 13 (IANS): Four workers, including a woman, were killed and 10 others injured in an ammonia boiler blast at Crimsun Organics in Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore district on Thursday morning, officials said.

The company's plant in SIPCOT Industrial Estate in Cuddalore manufactures pesticides.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced a solatium of Rs 3 lakh to the families of the dead and Rs 1 lakh for the injured.

The injured have been admitted to the government hospital in Cuddalore.
