Belagavi, May 14: After a house caught fire in Shiraguppi village due to short circuit, a gram panchayat member lost his life. The incident happened at Shiraguppi in Kagwad taluk during the early hours of Thursday May 13.

The unfortunate victim of the incident was Somashekhara Shivananda Patil (32). He was alone in the house as other family members were living in another house as this house was under repairs.

When fire spread, Somashekhara was alone inside the house, it is said. The entire house went up in flames in the incident.
