Mysore: Heggade to Inaugurate Dasara Festivities

Mysore, Aug 15: The Dasara high-power committee headed by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has decided to invite Dharmastala dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade to inaugurate the world-famous Dasara festival at the Chamundi Hill on October 9.

The decision was arrived at a high-power committee meeting chaired by the CM to review the preparations for Dasara. Further, it has also been decided that union tourism minister Kumari Selja be invited for the Dasara festivities.

The 10-day long Dasara festivities begin on a traditional note atop the Chamundi Hills with special prayers being offered to Goddess Chamundeshwari, the presiding deity of Mysore.
