Mysuru, May 20: Congress workers from the city have complained to the deputy commissioner (DC) of the district, Rohini Sindhuri, accusing Vijayendra, son of chief minister B S Yediyurappa, of offering puja at the Nanjangud temple. They said that by this act, Vijayendra has violated lockdown rules. They have urged the DC to take legal steps against him for flouting the rules.
On Tuesday, Vijayendra, along with family members and those close to him, had visited Lord Shreekanteshwara temple at Nanjangud with polie protection and offered puja there. He also had performed special puja at some other divine spots in the taluk, the complainants said, adding that this is clear violation of the Epidemic Diseases Act. They asked the deputy commissioner to instruct the concerned police officials to register cases against Vijayendra. They also have sought action to be taken against the officials who lent support to his visit, staff, management committee of Nanjangud temple, priest etc by keeping officials concerned under suspension.
