No new lockdown guidelines in DK, will initiate action against website disseminating fake news: DC

Mangaluru, May 20: Deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra KV informed that he will write to the police commissioner and DCP (Law & Order) to initiate action against a website for publishing fake news under the IT and Disaster Management Act.

A web portal has published a news stating that the people in the Dakshina Kannada (DK) district will be allowed to buy groceries only two days in a week. And there will be no marriages after May 24.

Speaking to daijiworld, the DC said, "This is a fake news. If the news does not come from my office, people should not believe it. The present guidelines will be continued till May 24. There will be no changes in the guidelines. After May 24, the government will issue new guidelines with any changes if required.

"By holding a district management committee, we will decide about the future course or how to address the situation. Till then, the same guidelines will be followed and there will be no changes.

“For publishing fake news, I will write to the police commissioner and DCP (Law & Order) to initiate action against the website,” he said.

    Deputy commissioner (DC) is a Government employee. Who is supposed to be a Peoples servant as he has been paid by the people. If He can take any action, then let him take action against Godi (Modi) Media first.

    I urge the Government to prohibit Weddings or any kind of gatherings including POLITICAL. Public knows that many political parties are having their good times during the time when everyone is locked up. If it's a LAW, It's a LAW FOR EVERYONE INCLUDING POLITICAL PARTIES AND THE RICH.
