Coimbatore now has a temple for 'Corona Devi'

Chennai, May 20 (IANS): With an increase in Covid-19 cases followed by deaths, a group of faithful's in Coimbatore have created a temple dedicated to "Corona Devi".

This resembles a similar situation in the early 1900s when the plague was claiming lives and then the faithful dedicated a temple for plague named, "Plague Mariamman Temple". This temple was formed and consecrated with an idol after the plague was coming year after year in Coimbatore district.

As Covid is also creating havoc across the country with the second pandemic turning more lethal, faithful's and believers have created a temple at Kamatchipuram near Irugur in the outskirts of Coimbatore city.

The temple was set up by the authorities of Kamatchipuram Adinam at its premises.

An official with the Kamatchipuram Adinam told IANS that Corona Devi is a black stone Idol which is 1.5 ft long and we strongly believe that the goddess will protect people from this grave disease".

This is the second temple dedicated to "Corona Devi" in South India.

The first was at Kadakkal in Kollam district, Kerala, when a temple priest had installed an idol of the deity in a makeshiftemple in the premises of his house.

Outrage for what practice? Its a matter of laughing stock. You can blame followers for such practices but but not Religion. Religion is teaching there is only one God but yet the followers are busy inventing Gods. Is it not their lack of study on Religious books? Why not priests make their disciples to compulsory study religious book? Or why not they explain what is written in the book. To b honest if people had read their religious book and followed it accordingly then surely there would have been no sangh parivaar on earth.

Rahulbaba, Keep an idol of Corona Devi in your house. Drink Cow Urine thrice a day and eat Cow dung twice a day. I can guarantee you that you will be cured from Corona by the blessing of Corona Devi. Next to her idol, keep a photo of your beloved Fakir and Sanyasi and worship them. Doesn't mean that just being Hindu, I should worship each and every idols. BTW, when we died (as a Hindu) where we will go, provided we live a better life. Can you explain to me. Let me see how much knowledge you have about Hinduism. Do not give lecture here about religion unless you know about all religion.
