Over 1,500 children from Karnataka take part in clinical trial of Covid vaccine for 2-18 age group

Daijiworld Media Network – Belagavi (MS)

Belagavi, May 21: Experiments related to developing vaccines for people below the age of 18 have taken pace. More than 1,500 children in Karnataka have participated in the three phase clinical trials of Zycov D Covid vaccine for under 18 group, being developed by Zydus Cadila pharmaceutical company.

The main difference between the vaccine that is given for adults and children is that the children vaccine will be administered in three doses instead of two for adults. Already first dose is administered to children in the age group of 12 to 18. So far no side effects are reported. Preparations are on to inject the second dose also.

Second dose for below 18 group will be given after 28 days of administering the first dose of vaccine. Third dose will be given after 54 days. Jeevan Rekha hospital in the city, which participated in the clinical trials earlier for Covaxin vaccine, has once again involved in the clinical trials of Zycov D vaccine for minors. Ten each of boys and girls are selected as volunteers for this trials and first dose is given. After administering every dose, the blood sample of children are collected to analyse their immunity level. At present, the health condition of children who have taken the first dose of vaccine is stable as per the information provided by Dr Amit Bhate of Jeevan Rekha hospital. In addition, Dr Bhate also said that there is also plan to administer Covaxin vaccine on children on trial basis.

Experts are of the opinion that the third wave of corona virus will have devastating effect on children. Now the clinical trial has brought some sort of solace.

USA, Canada, Singapore and UAE have given permission to use Pfizer vaccine for children in the age group of 12 to 15 in emergency cases. European medical agency is also verifying the possibility of using Pfizer vaccine for children.

Union government of India has also started the process for administering Covid vaccine for children. The Office of Drugs Controller general has given permission to Bharath Biotech to conduct second and third phase trials of Covaxin among children in the age group of 2 to 18. There is a possibility that the trials will start within 15 days.

According to medical experts third wave of coronavirus is going to strike sometime in October 2021.

@Ramcharan, For your information- RTPCR test is used to change RNA to get DNA from debris found of dead viruses which depends on the number of cycles used and unlike labs the samples collected from outside are contaminated with other viruses too which gives different genomes and never guarantees its from corona itself. Why Astra Zeneka uses Chimpanzee virus in their vaccines if human corona virus is available? Why Pfizer and Moderna use genetic codes to create spike proteins inside the recipients cells if they have spike proteins from human viruses? It is assumed corona is causing deaths but nobody has proven the same. Again no lab or scientists have been able to isolate corona virus to create animal or human trials by infecting them and conclusively prove it causing the disease. And no vaccine industry has ever succeeded in devising a vaccine that is successful against mutating viruses like corona till today.

@Ajay Covaxin manufacturing apart from Hyderabad has started in Bangalore also. In addition Hester pharma of Ahmedabad will start manufacturing it soon, there are talks about Haffkine ( one of the oldest and govt. company) to manufacturer this vaccine, so by June/ July we should get a fair number ( if all goes well and govt.does not interfere).

A month back Haffkine Institute said that they will be able to produce COVAXIN from January 2022. Now suddenly under pressure from government they agreed to produce from June- July 2021. What is the reality? Are we going to get that big number of Vaccines announced by the government, that is 2-3 billion doses by this year end? Or it is just hogwash?

@Daniel. 40,000 children have "tested positive" in Karnataka alone and 43 children have died. One case of black fungus (mucormycosis) has been reported in a 13 year old in Ahmedabad, so if children have not developed antibodies ( determined by antibody or serology tests) ,in my opinion they have to be vaccinated with Covaxin ( a time tested method of production), also people believe that there are no comorbidities in children, which is wrong, diabetes can occour in children also.Obesity is also a comorbidity as far as Covid is concerned, if possible both should be kept under control to prevent deaths in children.

Again India is the WORLD'S largest vaccine manufacturer, just release the covaxin patent and within months we can inoculate entire population.

Good to know the numbers of children with infections (The definition of infections is based on fake tests though) 43 succumbed with corona, which means for every thousand kids 1 is at risk with comorbid conditions which is life-threatening even without corona. For such a miniscule numbers there is no need to vaccinate children for an assumed protection which lasts only for a few months. Repeated jabs of toxins in them might cause cancers and autoimmune diseases in them. As kids get their cold virus infections every year their immune system is always ready to fight any present epidemic . Only need is protection of kids with juvenile diabetes, cancers, obese and kidney failure patients by isolation.

@Daniel, Mangalore. Zycov D is manufactured by Zydus Cadila of Ahmadabad, and they are conducting the trial of Zycov D. It is a DNA based vaccine and the technology is not time tested. Covaxin is manufactured by the traditional way like DPT, MMR etc., it is made by Bharat Biotech and ICMR ,I think it should be effective and safe as it is a time tested method unlike Zycov D, but in the first place is it required for children, where the Thymus gland has not atrophied and the T cells produced by it can easily tackle the corona virus, children may "test positive" but mortality and morbidity may not occur ( except MIS syndrome which is very very rare in India ).

We do not know if the DNA vaccine will be effective or not. The DNA vaccine for HIV failed miserably, also we do not know the long-term side effects. In medicine old is gold.

Hope these kids parents are not lured into offering their precious kids as human guinea pigs. I wonder whether the parents were informed about possible adverse vaccine injuries in the short or long term? All over the world data proves children below the age of 18 were never troubled by this planndemic pandemic. Any vaccines for any viral infection like corona which mutates rapidly hasn't been successful till today, The disease itself is not eligible to be called a pandemic with 0.003% mortality rate and never needs any vaccines. Natural immunity only is capable of dealing with 1,200,000 viruses out of which only around 200 are known to scientists. Lastly the Corona virus hasn't been seen or isolated by any scientists or labs, the debris detection of any virus doesn't prove it is the culprit, it's only based on guess work which isn't the scientific way. Expose the facts End the Menace.

For your information the Covid virus genome has been sequenced. When the entire genome is sequenced it is not correct to say that virus has not been isolated.

For your information the RTPCR cycles are used to create DNA from debris of dead viruses which contain RNA. No guarantee that they are from corona or contaminated by other viruses in the environment. Why Chimpanzee virus is used by Astra Zeneka instead of real corona virus ? Again no corona virus has been isolated or seen by any scientists till today.
