Mangalore: Alwyn D'Sa, Charles Furtado of SAC Conferred PhD by KSOU

Mangalore, Aug 17: Two lecturers of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Alwyn V D'Sa Charles Furtado have been awarded PhD degrees by Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysore.

Coincidentally, both lecturers did research under the guidance of Dr Nirmala C Prakash, professor and chairperson of the department of English, KSOU, Mysore. Their theses are said to be pioneering works in the field of American nature writing.

Dr Alwyn V D’Sa has been awarded doctorate for a thesis on ‘Emerging Perceptions of Nature in Contemporary American Narratives: A Study of the Literary Works of Annie Dillard and Wendell Berry.’

Dr Charles V Furtado from St Aloysius Evening College did his thesis on ‘Writer as Insider Critic: A Study of the Writings of Edward Abbey’.
