Bantwal, May 21: “There are no deficiencies in medical facilities for Covid management in Bantwal. Oxygen production units are coming up in Bantwal and Vamadapadav as a precaution,” said Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguthu.
He was speaking in a task force committee meeting at Kanyana gram panchayat on Friday. “Awareness in the gram should be continuous for a healthy society. There is a temporary scarcity of vaccines as the demand rose all of a sudden. Vaccines will be provided in stages. There is awareness about vaccination among those who were hesitating about it in the beginning. The government is bound to vaccinate everybody on priority. The villagers should be filled with confidence without listening to rumours,” he said.
Tahsildar Rashmi S R said that the government is requested that ration be provided to those who have applied for ration cards. “Further action will be taken on the basis of government directions. More awareness should be created about vaccination at gram level,” she suggested.
Taluk panchayat executive officer Rajanna said that the task force committee should work with responsibility at panchayat level to get rid of the virus. “The panchayat funds should be used for the purpose,” he said.
Kanyana gram panchayat president Abdul Rehman, vice president Kusuma, Buda president Devadas Shetty, PDO Vijayashanker Alva, revenue inspector Diwaker Mugulya, village accountant Prashanth, medical officer Phioline D’Souza, MLA’s war room heads Purushotham Shetty Vamadapadav, task force committee members and officials were present.
