Mangalore, Aug 18: Prof Haridas Bhat (79), retired professor in the department of physics, National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Suratkal, breathed his last at his residence near Srinivasanagar, Suratkal, on Tuesday August 17.

After retiring from NITK, he had also worked as the principal of Nitte first grade college. He is survived by two sons.
