Udupi, May 24: Girija Health Care and Surgicals, well-known distributors of health tools distributed Covid care kits to social workers who indulge in Covid-19 management work.
The organization's partners Ravindra Shetty and Harish Kumar in a programme held at its Udupi branch donated Covid kits to social worker Nithyananda Olakadu, welfare party president Azeez Udyavara, Vishu Shetty Ambalapady and Maxim Subhashnagar.
Ravindra Shetty said that the social workers across different religions helped the Covid infected and are conducting the last rites of people who die by the virus. “The organization has honoured the social workers considering their noble work. We have plans to donate about 500 medical kits to the district hospital and district administration. We are holding programmes such as these, in order to donate to the society a portion of our profits,” he said.
The Covid kits contain PPE kits, vitamin tablets, sanitizer, hand gloves, thermal gun and pulse oximeter.
Social worker Nithyananda Olakadu said that PPE kits are needed while conducting the funeral of Covid victims. “Temperature guns and other tools are required while admitting Covid patients to the hospital,” he said.
Indian Chamber Udupi president N G Sukumar, founder president Chitrakumar, former president Vijay Kumar Udyavar, Shanker Udyavar, Navin Ameen, Surekha Shetty and others were present.
