Yenepoya University's “YENCARE” Unique Card for Rural Health Launched

Mangalore, Aug 19: Yenepoya University released their unique health card “YENCARE” on the Independence Day in two Rural areas one at Chethan Nagar –Kumpala and another at Tokottu here.

The welcome address and the introduction of the health card was provided by Dr R N Sujeer, director of Rural Health Care and Development Centre, Ullal. After welcoming the dignitaries, he outlined the activities done by the centre such as starting of ten sub-centres, free health care delivery and medicines including blood check-up, BP checkup in the centre and free home health care delivery.

This apart he pointed out the health awareness programme, health check-up camps in school and colleges and medical camps that are held.

The function was inaugurated by chancellor Y Abdulla Kunhi. The release of the health card was done b J Krishna Palemar, district in-charge minister.

He distributed the cards to the representatives from Lakshmi Gudda, Chethan Nagar, Dharandhabagilu – Pillar, Permanur – Babbukatte, Munnur – Santhoshnagar and Urmane – Natekal.

Speaking on the occasion, Plaemar lauded the efforts of the Yenepoya University in promoting Rural Health Care. He also said that such a unique card is not issued by any of the medical colleges and in any scheme which has come out so far. He requested the public to make good use of the card.

Mangalore MLA U T Khader lauded the efforts of Yenepoya University in distributing health card to the Rural Community irrespective of caste, creed and religion and whether they are APL or BPL card
holders.

The members from the Chethan nagar, Lakshmi Gudda and Natekal responded to the health care facility given by the Yenepoya University.

In his presidential speech, Kunhi recalled the advice given by his late father Y Moideen Kunhi of providing basic education and health care to the rural people. He requested the people to utilize all the facilities given in the health card.
