Bengaluru, May 24: Karnataka on Monday, May 24 registered 25,311 new coronavirus cases.
As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 4,40,435. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally dipped further down to 5,701 new cases on Monday, a sharp decline from the earlier trend of over 20,000 cases every day.
As many as 529 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Monday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 297 deaths and Ballari 19. With this, the toll so far has risen to 25,811.
The state recorded 57,333 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 19,83,948.
So far, Karnataka has seen 24,50,215 positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
The positivity rate for the day stands at 23.28%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 2.09%.
A total of 1,21,97,196 people have received the vaccination to date.
