Kundapur, May 24: Various like-minded progressive organisation under the aegis of 'Jan Andolan Samiti' organised a protest 'Navu Badukabeku' from 8.30 am to 10.30 am on Monday, May 24.
The protestors held a 'Navu Badukabeku' poster in front of their house, clicked a photo and forwarded it to the Block Congress group.
Protestors also demanded that the government reimburse the cost of Covid-19 treatment and provide vaccination to all. "Covid Care Centres should be started at gram panchayat level. Government should also announce Rs 5 lac compensation for those families who lost the breadwinner of the family due to the pandemic. Government should provide grocery and Rs 5,000 compensation to the poor every month," the protestors demanded.
"The government should waive off the instalments and the interest of bank loans, during the period of lockdown. They should also announce compensation for the teachers, lecturers, advocates, and journalists. The government should reduce the prices of agricultural seeds, fertilizer, and agriculture equipment and should increase the subsidy," they stated.
Kundapur Block Congress general secretary, Vinod Crasto, town municipal council member, Devaki Sannayya, city Congress president, Ganesh Sherigar, IT cell general secretary, Chandrashekar Shetty, social media president, Roshan Shetty, INTUC president, Chandra Amin, Seva Dal president, Kumar Kharvi, Block Congress secretary, Asha Karvalo, gram panchayat member, Gangadhar Shetty and others were present.
