May 24: Dakshina Kannada reports 721 fresh corona cases, 927 in Udupi; 7 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 24: As per the Dakshina Kannada health bulletin the district reported 721 fresh coronavirus cases on Monday. The alarming rise in the number of new cases has pushed the total number of positive cases to 71,060. This further has raised the number of active cases to 10,325.

A total of 8,30,218 samples have been tested. Out of which 7,59,158 are negative.

As many as 788 people were discharged on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 59,872.

A total of 863 deaths have occurred so far, including three on Monday.

A total of Rs 59,04,630 in fines have been collected so far, for 56,550 mask violations in the district.

Udupi

The coronavirus tally in the district has risen to 29,977 including 927 fresh cases on Monday. Out of these, 5,851 cases are currently active.

Over 5,69,241 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 845 patients were discharged on Monday. The total number of recoveries has climbed to 24,010.

A total of 116 deaths have occurred so far, including four on Monday.
