Mysore, Aug 19: A person died on the spot and drivers of both the vehicles suffered injuries after the car in which the superintendent of police (SP) of Hassan district was travelling, hit a tractor.

The incident occurred at Ilawala on the outskirts of the city. In the accident, Hassan SP, Sharatchandra, escaped with minor injuries. The accident occurred opposite RMP Quarters between Ilawala and Hosakamanalppalu on Mysore-Hunsur road.

A person named Bharat (20), resident of Hosakamanakoppalu village, was killed on the spot.
