Chikkamagaluru, May 25: Western range inspector general of police, Devajyoti Ray, who has suspended police sub-inspector of Gonibeedu station in Mudigere taluk, Arjun H K, on the basis of preliminary report on the allegation of forcing him to drink urine of another person inside the police station made by a Dalit youth, K L Puneet,, visited the station on Monday May 24. The sub-inspector has been suspended and transferred to Udupi district.

The IGP obtained statements of the complainant, his relatives and leaders of Dalit organizations. He also collected details from the station in-charge and other staff. The IGP stated that the case has been entrusted to the criminal investigation department by the government.

In the meanwhile, in an interesting development, a woman who had gone missing after the incident, came to the police station on Sunday and filed a complaint alleging that the accused Puneet, had tried to rape her.
