Mangaluru, May 25: “The government should take measures to provide medicine for black fungus disease which is rising in the state,” said former minister Ramanath Rai.
Addressing media here on Tuesday May 25, he said, “Over 250 black fungus cases have been reported in the state and 20 have died so far. There is no medicine for this but injection. Doctors say that they need amphotericin B injection to treat black fungus. The government needs to take measures to tackle this disease. We know how the government has failed in tackling the pandemic and now the injection for black fungus is not available.
“Treatment for black fungus should be included under Ayushman Bharat scheme. It is the government’s responsibility to see that there is no shortage of amphotericin B injection to treat black fungus. Meanwhile, the MP and central ministers from the state should strive hard to bring in medicine for black fungus,” he said.
He also said, “A case is registered against the fake tool kit that is prepared by the BJP leaders. Congress party will take this issue to a logical conclusion. Public will be made to understand the false propaganda done by BJP in this regard. Local BJP leaders should stop the false propaganda that is being made about the tool kit at least now. Similarly, government should stop harassing Twitter, who took action after they came to know about the reality of this subject.
“When international media and social media writes articles glorifying BJP, they are welcome. But when BJP government is criticized, personal attack is made targeting reporters, media organizations and social media. Though people of the country are in dire straits due to Covid, the ruling government is concerned only about its status,” he said.
Corporator Shashidhar Hegde, Congress leaders Prakash Salian, Naveen D’Souza, Vishwas Kumar Das, Sadashiv Ullal, Bhaskar Moily and others were present.
