M'lore: Valencia Lions Club Donates Uniforms to St Joseph's School on I-Day

Mangalore, Aug 22: Lions Club, Valencia celebrated this year's Independence Day eventfully.

Ln John Vas Prabhu, president of the Lions Club, Valencia hoisted the National flag and Ln Navin Chandra Suvarna spoke on the occasion.

School children sang songs and performed dances on the occasion. Uniform clothes for 70 poor students and sweets for 650 students worth Rs 14, 500 were distributed. The uniform clothes were donated by Ln Joseph Rego and Ln Lawrence Serrao, sweets by Ln Alwyn Saldanha.

Ln Richard Monteiro , Ln Francis Pinto, Ln Sushil Noronha, Ln Jagdish, Ln Queenie Rego, Ln Hareitte Vas Prabhu, primary school headmistress Sr Sheryl, high school headmistress Sr Roshini, teachers, staff and students were present on the occasion.
