Bahrain, Aug 22: Dakshina Kannada Muslim Welfare Association Bahrain organized Iftar party for its members' families at Antasram Auditorium, Manama here.
Razaq Sulaiman, president of DKMWA welcomed the gathering. As many as 300 persons attended the party.
The association was established in 1992 with an aim to get closer with Dakshina Kannada Muslim brethren. The association has so far offered many scholarship for engineering and medical students of poor families in the community.
They have also made arrangements for marriage proposals to many a orphan Muslim spinsters and also medical treatment provided to aged people in the DK district. In Bahrain, the association has lent personal loans to the poor families without interest and take responsibilities to repatriate the bodies of human remains to India.
Every year the association celebrate Muslim festivals, picnic and sports for their members. Recently they have began kit for under privilege families that comprise needed personal belongings and Rs
1000 to purchase ration items back in Dakshina Kannada.
