Only 3.4% vaccinated, Priyanka points out flaws in vax policy

New Delhi, Jun 1 (IANS): Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday in her series "jimmedar Kaun" (Who is responsible) highlighted the flaws in vaccine distribution.

In her Facebook post she wrote, "Experts believe that to defeat coronavirus, vaccination is the key and the countries which have vaccinated its people have seen less impact of the second wave, but in our country, it was 320 percent more than the first wave."

She said that the citizens are asking why the situation has come to this that the state governments have to go for global tender and compete for different rates for the same vaccine. How the government is claiming to vaccinate every Indian by the end of this year and what is the plan to vaccinate those who are deprived of digital connectivity?

"In this country, vaccines for smallpox and polio were distributed to every household but due to the Modi government's inefficiency, the production and distribution have been in a mess," She said.

Only 12 percent of people received the first dose and only 3.4 percent have been fully vaccinated in India, she said.

In 2020, Modi had said that he will vaccinate every citizen and the plan is ready. But in April during the second wave, responsibility was shifted to the States and till May 1, only 34 crore vaccines have been ordered and many state governments have been forced to go for global tender and many companies have refused to deal with them, she said, adding this is the reason vaccination centers are closed and there are different rates for the vaccines.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday said that more than 23 crore vaccine doses have been provided to the States/UTs and approximately 1.75 crore doses are still available with them to be administered.

The Centre has so far provided, both through the free of cost category and through the direct state procurement category, more than 23 crore vaccine doses (23,11,68,480) to States/UTs.

The Prime Minister has completely failed to provide a sense of safety, direction or leadership during this massive human crisis we are facing. The lack of planning and preparation between the first and the second wave is the worst act of negligence of an incompetent government.

24 Crores vaccinated first dose is approx 12 percent of our 130 Crores population , but then vaccine requirement is for less than 110 Crore people as below 18 India is not vaccinating at this time. Priyanka Robert Vadra can only sit in room and do telecast over social media, nothing else this political vulture can do, bad mouth India, abuse Modi and Yogi

A vaccination program that covers a population as vast as India’s 1.3 billion is expected to be a herculean task, but India is implementing national immunization campaigns with great success. The need for a faster rollout today—amidst a raging, treacherous second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic—creates its own, largely unprecedented challenges. India's vaccination will be completed before 2021. The Health Ministry has given a blueprint for how 1.08 billion people, with 2.16 billion doses, will positively get vaccinated before December 2021. So, you may continue your picnic in Simla with Bhaisaab, trying to coin your next stupid tricky statement.

You are very good in copy and paste... BTW, do you know the meaning as well?? Someone promised so many things to be done in 50 days before coming to power in 2014. Now it is 2021 and none of them completed. Having a blue print is different, walking the talk is different? Do you know that?? I have saved your comment and will be back on the first day of 2022, see how wet the panty is by the time.
