Daijiworld Media Network - Riyadh

Riyadh, Jun 3: The ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia began the implementation of regulations to check noise pollution in the Kingdom on Wednesday June 3. The new regulations will apply to all people in residential, commercial, industrial, and environmentally sensitive areas in addition to roadsides and construction sites.

Exemptions are made to military activities, airports, railways, operational activities at seaports and national celebrations. The new rules also do not apply to noise inside buildings.

The ministry will enforce these laws with the help of the data gathered by the National Center for Environmental Compliance. Violations to the rules will attract fines and other penalties.
