Chamarajanagar: Cow Slaughter - Governor Snubs BJP for Politicizing Issue

Daijiworld Media Network – Chamarajanagar (SP)

Chamarajanagar, Aug 24: State Governor, H R Bhardwaj, resented the campaign undertaken by the BJP to pressurize the President of India to sign Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill that he has forwarded to her. “This initiative smacks of political overtones,” he commented.

Speaking to reporters after taking part in the inaugural of JSS Art and Commerce College’s women’s hostel at Gundlupet in the district on Monday August 23, he said that the BJP’s efforts to politicise the issue of cow slaughter is a worrying development. While concurring with the point that Hindus worship cow, he felt that it is wrong to snatch away the right to food of the majority in the country, who consume non-vegetarian food.

“The bill is in the court of the President now. The BJP’s efforts to create dispute about it has been creating unnecessary confusion among the people. The party has been trying to split the society on emotional lines. It is wrong on its part to have decided to undertake protest all over the state on this issue. The state government too has not been moving on the right direction in relation to the bill,” he added.

I am not in favour of any political party/caste/religion. But I am in favour of the bill. Because Cow is the nearer/dearer animal to human beings. Two Kannada Poems - Ninarigadeyo Yele Manava and Punyakoti. If every one understood the theme of these two, they will support the bill. My request to all, please support the bill.

"We must blame our self because we the so called educated people have time to write comments but no time to cast our valuable vote during elections”
Most of the minister who passed "Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill" are fond of beef and they eat a lot at restaurants. Because of this bill the price of beef will increase but cow slaughter will not stop at any cost. We have foolish govt. at Karnataka state, which wasted their 2.5yrs doing nothing.

This BJP and it's allies are a real pain and are getting inclined to the so called religious fundamentalist muslims who use religion to even bomb inocent people like these religious fundamentalsit these so called saffron fundamentalist are out to erode the values of secularism of India. Did these saffron members do anything about the decline in agriculture so that some non hindus can become vegeterian they are spectators to govt using police to thwart poor farmers opposing the acquistions of there land by the developers who only want to amass wealth and become wealthy at the expense of our food giving land turning into concrete jungles, are these cattle not exported to foreign countreis like in UAE

Indian mutton is at par with Indian price per kilo but did they ever talk about it as petrol imported from these counties is so expencsive in India at least 4 times higher than the rates of the exporting countries these BJP with such ideologies will make people starve one day their food will be exported and those countries will afford it at lower rates
