Government announces one-day state mourning for former Mauritius president


New Delhi, Jun 5 (IANS): The government of India has declared one-day state mourning on Saturday as a mark of respect to former Mauritius President Anerood Jugnauth, who passed away on Thursday.

Jugnauth, who was also a former Prime Minister of Mauritius, breathed his last on Thursday at the age of 91.

Accordingly, the triclour will be flown at half-mast throughout India on Saturday and there will be no official entertainment programmes on the day.
