Bangalore: Madani Involvement in Blasts – Commissioner Alleges Media Goof Up

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Aug 26: Following the goof up by the state home minister, Dr V S Acharya, who had earlier charged People’s Democratic Party leader, Abdul Nasser Madani, of having a hand in the blasts that were set off near the Chinnaswamy Stadium on the day a crucial IPL match in April this year, and his efforts to make amends to his earlier statement, it was the turn of the city police commissioner, Shankar Bidari, to come to the rescue of the home minister.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday August 25, Bidari insisted that Madani was not involved with the bomb blasts near the said stadium.

“The statement of the home minister was wrongly interpreted by the media. Madani is not in any way connected with the above blasts,” he clarified. He said that the minister was referring to serial bomb blasts that rocked the city in 2008, and not the blasts near the stadium. He added that the media had misunderstood what the minister said.

Bidari added that the investigating team has been continuing with the questioning of Madani and felt that the policemen would require more time to extract further details. He claimed that the team has already collected some important information in the case.
