Kundapur, Jun 11: Kotathattu gram panchayat was completely sealed down on Thursday as a precaution after the spike in Covid cases.
A meeting in this connection was held under the leadership of Brahmavar tahsildar at Kotathattu gram panchayat auditorium on Wednesday. The roads where people travel are barricaded and blocked by tapes. More than 48 Covid cases were detected at Padukere limits during the last week.
The seal down process was set in motion under the leadership of panchayat president Ashwani Dinesh and development officer Shailaja S Poojary in association with Kota police station inspector Santhosh B P.
Kota Hobali revenue inspector Raju, village accountant Cheluvaraju, panchayat vice president Vasu Poojary, member Ravindra Tingalaya, Sairabanu, Sathish Kunder, Vidya Salian, Pooja Poojary, local Ranjith Kumar and others were present.
No traffic till June 14, shops to remain closed:
The roads in Kotathattu gram panchayat limits will be free from traffic till June 14 due to the seal down. People are permitted to buy necessary items till Thursday June 12. Panchayat members will provide service to the houses in their respective parts.
