Sullia, Jun 11: In an accident which happened on Wednesday night at Mavinakatte near Adkar here, one person died while three others suffered serious injuries.

A container truck that was moving towards Mangaluru from the directing of Madikeri at high speed dashed against a pick-up vehicle in which agricultural labourers were being transported from the direction of Puttur. The pick-up driver, Dinkar and others who suffered extensive injuries were admitted into a private hospital in Sullia. However, Dinkar (32) from Kumbalacheri, Peraje, did not respond to treatments and passed away.

Dinkar was working as a pick-up driver in the plantation of Dr Leeladhar brothers near Puttur Kumbra. Thee agricultural labourers, after the day's work, were being dropped off at Sullia when the accident happened.

The pick-up was badly mangled in the accident. Sullia police visited the spot and registered a case.
