Mangaluru: Navbharath Circle demolished, new roundabout to be built soon

Mangaluru, Jun 12: Navbharath Circle (Rashtrakavi Govind Pai Circle) was demolished on the night of Friday June 11.

Speaking on the matter, Mangaluru City Corporation mayor Premananda Shetty said that the existing circle was unscientifically built.

He said, “The circle which was existing was unscientifically built. It was causing inconvenience in smooth flow of traffic. So the circle is demolished now.

“Very soon, a new circle will be erected here. There will not be any changes in the name of the circle,” he said.

Circles are wrongly built without any application of Mind..Criminal waste of Money... Lady hill circle.......just cannot understand.....built...broken..widened..shortened.....and it goes on... Dividers built on Zebra crossings ??!! (lady hill circle) Same is the case with any Circle in and around Manglore..Smart city funds ,,up for grabs !!!!???

The most unscientific circle according to me is Bondel circle. What a waste of space on the main road🤔 Poor man could have built two houses easily in the area used for that circle. Road angle.was.changed, reason given, a steep turn towards Kavoor and airport road.. Why not identify d direction with a big green board marking the directions to move. Total waste of money.

Perfect..Even i too felt that circle was unscientific....i feel very much trouble when i do turnabout in my Car and bike...Mangalore infrastructure in now improving and getting modern. happy to see it. Mayor Premanand shettys decesion is right. Built a new modern looking circle like in New york or european cities. Hope Jail road and Pintos lane too get concreted with footpaths...!!!

What about footpaths in the Navbharat circle area opposite the Ocean Pearl hotel? I I mean the post office side the footpath and road are of the same level and pedestrians have to walk on road since vehicles are parked on the footpath. Even on the K. S. Rao start outside Ram bhavan there is no footpath and since there are so many schools and causes problems to children. Smart city only for vehicles not for pedestrians.

Good Job ..Not only Navbharath circle ..there are many other junctions and circles which are not aligned properly with the incoming roads ..All these can be easily tackled .. The MAngalore Traffic police should focus more on putting up sign boards and marking Humps and Zebra crossings .. I am sure Mangalore has everything that can make it a smart city ..They need to focus on Waste Management and Supplying clean drinking water . The Govt hospitals are much better now ..Thanks to Nalin Ji efforts .. He has done what the previous regime could not do for many years ..One striking example is the Gurpura Bridge and Pane MAngalore Bridge .. Also the Highway from Kulshekar towards gurupura kaikamba is better now ..not potholes .. Please find permanent solution to NAnthur Cross fly over .. during the next lockdown.. PEople will vote for you another 8 years
