Udupi: 24-year-old Royston D'Silva Dies in Road Accident at Pernal

Udupi, Aug 27: A youth died in a road accident that occurred at the junction of Ganapathi temple at Pernal near here at around 6 pm on Friday August 27.
 
The deceased has been identified as twenty-four-year-old Royston, son of the late Ligoury and Irene D’Silva, residents of Belman near here.

Royston was riding his motor cycle from Shirva to Belman when a private bus tried to overtake him at the Ganapathi temple junction. Royston slipped off his motor cycle while trying to apply the breaks and fell on the road, landing close to a tempo. He was pronounced dead soon after.  
 
Royston was an alumnus of St Joseph’s Scool, Belman, near here.
 
The driver of the tempo said that he slowed down to give way for the bus when Royston fell off and hit the road.
 
Shirva police sub-inspector K R Naik arrived at the spot and registered a case against the driver of the tempo and seized his vehicle.
