Bantwal: Satya Ganapathi Pambattaje, BJP Leader Passes Away in Badrinath

Bantwal, Aug 28: Forty-seven-year old Satya Ganapathi Pambattaje, a co-operative movement activist, social and religious local leader was passed away when a boulder crushed him while on his pilgrimage to Badrinath, north India on Friday August 27.

The traffic to Badrinath pilgrimage centre was blocked till 8.00 am on Friday. It was restored after a while, when the convoy of pilgrims reached the Badrinath temple and was returning. Meanwhile, a few pilgrims including Satya Ganapathi Pambattaje alighted from the bus to view the pristine surrounding.  A landslide which occurred at that moment crushed Satya Ganapathi who was taking a few pictures of the pristine surrounding. Other pilgrims were safe in the bus.

The deceased Satya Ganapathi was a son of the late Shankaranarayan Bhat, resident of Karopady village, here. Satya Ganapathi was a veteran of co-operative movement with charming personality.  He was the chairman of Karopady C A Bank besides correspondent of Gurudev Kannada Medium School and project officer of Gurudev Gram Vikas Kendra. He was instrumental in rebuilding the Janardhan temple in his native Pambattaje.

He was one among the three top local leaders of BJP in the taluk. He is survived by his wife, son studying in class IV and daughter studying in class X.

His mortal remains are placed in Dehradun Hospital and likely to reach his native by flight from New Delhi by August 28 night.

    It is shocking.I was his classmate in 8th and 9th std in govt jr college,kanyana.
    brilliant in oratory skills,acadamics
    I was closely following him in his social,religious activities in and around his native place.Brave guy with lots of energy for community work.leadership was natural to him.
    pray almighty for his soul to rest in peace.
    my deepest condolance to his family.
