Bomb Threat to Jayalalithaa Ahead of Rally


Chennai, Aug 29 (PTI): A letter threatening a bomb attack on AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa during her proposed rally in Madurai next month was received by the 'Jaya TV' on August 28, a top official of the pro-AIADMK channel said.

In a complaint to police, a copy of which was released to media here, the official said the letter received at its office here said Jayalalithaa should cancel the Madurai rally or else she and her followers will be killed by a bomb attack.

Jaya TV Network Vice-President (Admin & Legal) S Ranganathan in a letter to the Director General of Police said the sender's name of the threatening letter was mentioned as K Arivoli Mathi of Kalanthiri.
